Where the ultra-wealthy are hiring private chefs

Private culinary demand is not spread evenly. Four regions account for most of the searches we see, and each hires in a different rhythm.

United States

More than 225,000 ultra-high-net-worth individuals, holding around 36 per cent of global ultra-wealth. A private chef is an established part of the household rather than a distinction.

China

Close to 100,000 ultra-high-net-worth individuals and the fastest growth in demand for private culinary services of any region.

Europe

Riviera villas, Alpine chalets and Amalfi retreats form a seasonal triangle. Chef residencies here follow the calendar rather than the year, which makes seasonal and rotational structures the norm.

United Arab Emirates

Demand is rising across penthouses, palaces and private aviation, often for chefs who can move between all three without a change in standard.

The pattern across all four is the same. These households do not book restaurants. They bring the kitchen home, and they expect it to travel with them.

Every successful placement begins with a private conversation.
