Who We Are

UHNWI Chef Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 16962263, at 167-169 Great Portland Street, London W1W 5PF.

Any question about this policy, or any request concerning your information, goes to connect@uhnwichef.com and is answered within one month.

What We Collect From Chefs

When you apply to join our network we collect what you enter on the application form and whatever you attach to it.

• Contact and identity details: name, email address, telephone number and current location.
• Right to work information: nationality, work authorisation, passport status and driving licence.
• Professional history: category, years of experience, private household and yacht experience, certifications, languages and your written introduction.
• Placement preferences: availability, placement types, travel flexibility and salary expectations.
• Documents you choose to send: a CV, a portfolio, a link to a professional profile, and referee details if you provide them.

We also hold CVs sent directly to us by email rather than through the form. Those are described separately in section 4.

What We Collect From Clients

When you brief us on a search we collect your contact details, your organisation or household context, and the requirements of the role: locations, schedule, environment, cuisine, service style, compensation range and the professional qualities you are looking for.

Two of those fields describe other people rather than you: what the kitchen needs to avoid or provide, and whether children are part of the household. We ask for the requirement only and not the medical reason behind it, and we ask you not to name family members. Both are treated as confidential, restricted to the search they concern, and deleted with the rest of the brief.

Why We Hold It, and On What Basis

For chefs who apply through the form, our basis is your consent. You give it by ticking the box on the application, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

For CVs sent to us directly by email, our basis is legitimate interest: you contacted a recruitment agency in order to be considered for work, and considering you is what we do with it. You can object at any time and we will remove you.

For clients, our basis is the performance of a contract or the steps taken before entering one.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you. Where we rank or shortlist candidates, a person reviews and decides.

Who Sees It

Your profile, portfolio, references and CV are shared with a prospective client or authorised family office only with your agreement for the specific role concerned. We ask you first, every time.

We are never able to publish your details, and we do not sell information to anyone or use it for marketing unrelated to placement.

The suppliers that process information on our behalf are Brevo, which delivers our email, Google Workspace, which hosts our mailbox, and Vercel, which hosts this website. They act on our instructions and cannot use your information for their own purposes.

Where It Goes

Our suppliers operate within the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the United States. Transfers outside the UK rely on the adequacy regulations in force or on the International Data Transfer Agreement, so your information carries the same protection wherever it is processed.

Where a search concerns a role outside the UK, sharing your profile with that client means sending it to that country, which is part of what you agree to when you agree to be put forward for the role.

How Long We Keep It

Candidate records are kept for 36 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted. If you ask us to delete your record sooner, we do.

Deletion happens in two stages: the record is removed from the working database immediately and purged permanently after a short grace period, so that an accidental deletion can be reversed.

Client briefs are kept for the duration of the engagement and for as long afterwards as our legal and accounting obligations require.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where consent is our basis.

A copy of what we hold includes any assessment or notes we have recorded about your application. Email us and we will answer within one month, without charge.

This Website

This site sets strictly necessary cookies, which keep it working and cannot be switched off, and collects anonymous analytics about how pages are used. The analytics do not identify you and are not linked to your application.

Form submissions are sent to us by email, over an encrypted connection, and any file you attach travels with them.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first at connect@uhnwichef.com and we will try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to This Policy

This policy is versioned. The version in force is shown at the top of this page, and material changes are notified to candidates on our records before they take effect.
